Growth mindsets are important if we’re to create teaching and learning cultures that achieve through creativity and innovation. The Common Core State Standards are opportunities to collaboratively rethink and innovate our teaching practices, making them 21st first century relevant. In this way, our students learn to harness their creativity, strengthen their academic skills and language in order to emerge from K-12 public education being college and/or career ready as creatively confident problem-solvers and problem-seekers.
CoLab K – 12 teachers and educators are distinguished National Writing Project Fellows and accomplished Museum and University-based experts in creativity and professional development. We understand that together we must be the researchers of our practices who read and learn reputable learning and curriculum research. We do this to become informed teacher-prototypers who explore, envision and enact amazing teaching and learning curricula with fellow teachers, our students and their families.
